Heating oil price trend
Weekly EIA averages since October 2025.
What's in the price of a gallon of heating oil
The largest piece is the wholesale price of distillate fuel, which follows crude oil and refinery supply. Distribution adds the cost of storage, trucks and dealer margins.
EIA's average excludes taxes. Your bill can also include delivery fees and minimum-gallon rules, so your dealer's price will differ from these averages.
